Parvati Rai

gehört zum Stamm der Kiratis und praktiziert seit über vier Jahrzehnten. Sie ist Mutter von vier Kindern und wurde 1946 in Bjojpun Chhinaku, Ost-Nepal, geboren. Wie alle Menschen der Kirati-Tradition gehört auch sie keiner Religionsrichtung an, sondern verehrt ausschließlich die Natur. Mit neun Jahren hatte Parvati Rai ihre erste Initiationserfahrung. Ihre Anerkennung zur Schamanin für die Kirati-Gemeinschaft erhielt sie mit 16 Jahren.

…is a member of the Kirati tribal and practises over 40 years as a shaman. She is a mother of four children and she is born in the year of 1946 in Bjojpun Chhinaku, East-Nepal. As a member of the Kirati she does not belong to any religion. She only worships the nature. At the age of nine years she got her first initiation. Her recognition as a shaman to the Kirati community she received at the age of 16.
